Thanks
No additional UK VAT or shipping charges to pay on Cplay2air👍

That is good news.

I ordered a different adapter from China and charged £30 vat and handling

Changing the subject I’m off to see a pal tomorrow to see if my redesign of charger fits his Gen 2. Hope so!

Redesign tested in a Gen 2 and it fits. The console hole is slightly longer front to back than in my Gen 1 so there is a slight gap at the rear. Otherwise a neat fit and the armrest closes easily.

Will take a phone up to 163mm x 86 mmm. My iPhone X shown in its case

Any chance it could be made deeper to keep the case on my iphone x - the case I have is quite thick. Sounds and looks a very good idea. How much are they please?

I'll PM you.

Said to a few others - wasn't my intent to try to flog these - but whilst there is interest I'm happy to help out

Cheers

Will wireless charging work ok through a thicker case?
Not sure how close to the charger plate the rear surface of the phone needs to be. Or maybe you just get a slower rate of charge due to the weaker EM field?

It's fairly easy to make it a tad deeper. Design is 10mm and I could make it 15mm even 20mm

I have an iPhone X and it charges fine in its slim case (1mm thick, as per the photo). I've just sat it on an extra 5mm to plastic and it still charges but unable to tell if the charging is slowed down

Happy to answer any other questions

Cradle and charge pad fitted today - thanks Madelvic :)
Works well, definitely the way ahead!

Armrest doesn’t close the final few degrees as it now rests on the cradle surround. Plenty of head-room for the phone though (iPhoneXs in an Apple leather case).
