This is so annoying. Unbelievable that Porsche cannot offer any cost-effective solution to the lack of DAB Radio issue.
Replacement unit £5000 OMG
I recently bought a Porsche 2016 Macan One aspect of the car entertainment system that is very annoying is that it does not have the DAB Radio option. I overlooked this thinking 2016 surely has a DAB radio. As I had 2008 BMW previous that did.
I was wondering if you anyone can help. I have jukebox, reserve camera and Sat Nav with a BOSE system Would love to have DAB radio as it offers clarity of audio and would be deal for the BOSE system.
The USB option seems to be the best cost-effective solution https://www.dension.com/automotive/prod ... tions/dabu
I need someone locally to supply and fit a solution. I am based in Surrey, UK
DAB Radio - So annoying

AFAIK, DAB has always been standard on the Macan in UK. Strange if you don't have it.
(BTW, as long as you have a strong signal, FM offers much better 'clarity of audio' than DAB, for most stations)
You don't need CarPlay to achieve this. You can stream over BT from any phone app, or direct using wired connection. When overseas I use this to get UK internet radio on my PCM3.1. Again internet radio is usually better quality than DAB, assuming you chose the right stream.

Internet Radio is probably OK, will need unlimited data on the smart phone. 1 hr streaming is equivalent to 1GB

With a 'standard' 128kbps stream, one hour is about 60MB. Even an hour of BBC R3 (320kbps) will be only circa 150MB.
So did you work out why your car doesn't have DAB as standard?
WhatCar said in 2014:
Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, electric leather-and-Alcantara seats, climate control and a DAB radio, but it's disappointing that Porsche demands you pay extra for features such as cruise control (£348) and Bluetooth (£271) on a car costing this much.
Also I've just listened to RadioPlayer for a but less than an hour and used 30Mb of data

Confident my ‘14 SD (and definitely my ‘16 GTS) had DAB......(you need to select it.....it’s not automatic)

I have a March 2016 SD and it definitely has DAB as standard. I only listen to 6Music as a rule and it's only on DAB.
One caveat is that I have the 2nd generation PCM which had only just been released around that time. It was the good old days when I had to pay an extra £1,052 for the Sat Nav upgrade!
