The TMC service last time I looked at its operation had manual/human intervention in the data transmission and was typically at least 30 mins behind events.andywebber wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 6:28 pm Yes the red / yellow lines are obtained via TMC, which uses a separate channel on the radio to get traffic information and it is completely separate to live traffic information.

You have to have an Apple phone though, don't think Android works in the same way, you dont actually get the Waze map on the screen just instructions, unless I am doing something wrong.Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:30 pmSure can, that’s Apple car play for you. I had it in the Jag and literally never ever used the standard sat nav. I either use Google maps or Waze both are continuously updated and show live traffic updates. You can stream music from Spotify for example and still have Google maps up on the screen…Nelladrahcir wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:24 pmCan you 'plug' Google maps into the PCM screen from your phone?

If the Waze app appears on screen of PCM when in car play you should be able to open it? I found on the Jag that you have to put the destination in on your phone but then it displays (and instructs if you want) on the PCM screen.
I use Google maps actually and this can be used via voice activation for setting a destination.

I’m totally confused by all this to be honest.
I just picked up a 15 plate 3.0 DS last week which was supposed to have Nav but turned out that it doesn’t. Listening to you guys talking about “Car Play” is it possible for me to do same with my iPhone and just plug it in?

I'd be sceptical about your chances, Apple Car Play didn't exist when your Macan was built. Hopefully someone with the same version as you can give you some help.

So it won't work from an android phone?Jon A wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:30 pmSure can, that’s Apple car play for you. I had it in the Jag and literally never ever used the standard sat nav. I know there is a kit out there that converts the PCM3.1 to use Car Play, it’s just over £500 which is fine but it’s not a small job to install it as half ther dash has to come out plus you need to break open the PCM.
Would i be able top do a straight swap of ther PCM from a later model with the Nav module installed?
