Anyone tried the Isudar Carplay stuff?

I've just placed a deposit on a 2015 Macan and need to add carplay to the PCM 3.1

They appear to have two options, the board to fit the standard PCM

and this replacement unit

https://www.isudar.com/collections/wire ... 2150285394

^^ which claims to allow the standard reversing camera etc, just wondering how well it integrates?

Thanks for the links, lots of helpful info.

Quick update, ending up fitting the internal Isudar PCM3.1 module today and all works great as others have reported. My main concern was the original parking camera/sensors which work perfectly

The hardest part was removing the air vents prior to head unit removal. A considerable amount of force is needed to get them out, not for the faint hearted.

I bought the same/similar unit from AliExpress. It certainly looks the same and the way it is controlled is the same.

I can't see from the photos of what you had supplied clearly, but I have a lead marked 'speaker' which we didn't connect thinking it wasn't necessary. Did your unit have this lead? I think it just shows in one of the photos of the unit and wiring (page 2 of the instructions you linked to, which I didn't get!)
More to the point, assuming you had the same lead, did you connect it to a speaker? I have now got a speaker to fit sometime, but the unit has to come out again to fit it, and, as you said, removing those vents isn't easy.

I have another problem in that I usually have to re- link my iPhone each time I get in the car. I think this might be a weak Bluetooth signal due to not separating the two aerials from the power leads. That can be addressed and cured if and when we connect that speaker cable, subject to your reply!

I don't get satnav instructions unless Aux is chosen from Source menu. Consequently, I can't choose FM, DAB, Bluetooth Aux or any of the other Source options. Hopefully, connecting the speaker will sort this out.

Cheers, TonyZ

I didn't connect anything to that speaker output, maybe its something to do with if you don't have factory parking which I do. Hadn't though about maybe it can supply nav instructions as Carplay in my factory-fitted Transporter T6, works as you describe, radio on, no sat nav instructions. Needs to be in carplay mode for instructions.
In Carplay I just use a radio stream if I want radio.

I had no pairing issues. I made sure the aerials were above the head unit as opposed to behind them but all the cables do go through the same hole at the rear.
