Santa unexpectedly bought me a NextBase 412GW dash cam along
with the dash cam hardwire kit for Christmas.

I followed 'Nuclear Nick's superb post and wiring the camera
and plugged the 2 Amp ATO/C fuse into
the spare fuse slot (#6 , bank B). With the wiring kit, I also have a negative spade
connector.

Has anyone had experience of has the know-how as to where I can
connect the ground feed to, in and around the fuse box area please?

Gary - I used the dashboard fixing stud just above the fuse banks. You can see it in photo 7. The stud is long enough to accept an eye connector and nut (sorry, I forget the size) without disturbing the original dashboard fixing. Hope this helps.

Thought I'd add a couple of pictures following my dashcam install.

You may recall that I was concerned about the potential removal of panels for the rear cam but that wasn't necessary and I cannot see any evidence of the wiring hence I didn't take pics of the headlining as I'm told it's in there but for the life of me I can't see where it might be.

Rear camera.

The wiring from the rear cam was fed into this.

I'm told the wiring from the rear cam can be seen behind this airbag plug.

This is the front facing camera and this is all I see of the wiring.

Fleabay version

I received one of these today and initial thought was that the fitting cable was thicker than I was expecting. I will have to take Col's detailed instructions into the car to fit it. That may have to wait until my garage door is widened and I can get the car in. A bit too cold to spend hours sat outside in the car

Big smileAs a newbie it is most encouraging to see so many positive posts on various subjects both on technical points and general info on this forum which is greatly appreciated whilst waiting for my Macan SD hopefully delivered before April 1st. Only regret wish I had a test drive in the Porsche before placing order for a very flawed Fpace now gone beauty is only skin deep as I found out to my cost. Porsche code

Welcome to the forum Macview19. It's a great place with lots of good hearted banter and many knowledgeable folks willingly helping each other.

I never had a test drive either when I ordered my SD. I just knew I'd love it.

Has anyone fitted or considered using the parcel shelf or rear seat area ie headrests for a rear view camera with power from the rear 12v.
The view angle may be enough, to capture data for a rear mishap for example, i have a front one already.

I was thinking thst tailgate use might be less effective with the opeming closing activities, just curious.
