Yes, almost. It rarely understands commands, even when stationary. Like another member here, my last car was an Audi (Q5), on which the voice control was excellent with a vast number of commands in each of the modules ( sound, navigation, etc.) and yes, the steering wheel had two programmable buttons, one of which I assigned to turn off the voice guidance, and yes, I could set auto mute on the radio if there was a call or a traffic announcement. Having said that "voice control off" worked whichever module I was in. The only way to do this in the Macan appears to be Home/Sound/Volume/Navigation Commands (or Traffic Announcements) , followed by adjusting the volume, then return. This is a lot of commands, and one should not have to do all of this when driving, when a simple programmable button or two would do the trick. Porsche boast that this PCM is betetr than the previous version, which must have been awful. I wonder if much of this could be fixed by a firmware upgrade- come on Poersche, pull your socks up!

As I posted b4, the simplest way to stop the voice guidance on the satnav is to press the "voice button" on the stalk and say "cancel route guidance". After a wait of about 5 seconds she responds with "route guidance cancelled". However, that's not what I think you're seeking, nor always am I !
What we need is simple procedure to mute the route guidance - not stop the (visual) guidance altogether.
If Audi and others can do it....yes, so why can't Porsche?
Another minor irritant is that if I turn down the volume of the radio right down when starting a guided route, "her" voice is very quiet. Then turning up the radio volume restores her voice to the preferred volume I originally set by the laborious process you show above.
In my Audi. all you had to do to modify the volume of the route guidance was to alter the volume knob whilst she was speaking, but as a Q5 owner you'll know that.

Yes, that is what I was trying to do - turn off the voice commands, but not the navigation.
In Home/Volume you can set the levels for traffic announcements and route guidance ( or turn them off) using the right dial, and I think these are then ther defaults. I think it is possible to adjust the volume during announcement using the volume control (left dial), but that isn't then stored.

I find it useless. You have to know how to say things, not just what, and the accuracy of recognition is so poor you end up wishing you hadn't bothered.
However, I use voice all the time with Siri/CarPlay and that's pretty good.

Just sat in the car and used Siri rather than PCM to locate hotels, tourist attractions etc., and it's brilliant. It's possible that the relatively high road noise in the Macan (big fat tyres), interferes with the voice control. I had 3 litre diesel Q5 before, and the voice control worked a dream. I'll try Siri on the move and see what happens

Voice control is ok for selecting music source radio/iPod/jukebox etc but that's about it. I must try the cancel navigation command as I too find it very difficult to do it using the touch screen.

You can cancel the navigation using the small right hand screen and the selector wheel on the steering wheel. Scroll to the nav screen and press. The option to cancel navigation is there to select.
