The only thing I find really useful about Connect + is the real time traffic. It's invariably accurate and in the latest version covers minor road as well. Whether it's worth £800 is another matter, although new buyers no longer have the choice.

Tricky one. And if you have CarPlay (which I don't think needs Connect Plus) you get RTT anyway, and in my experience is rather better than the Porsche one (updates more frequently, pops up with accidents and closures many minutes before it shows up in PCM)

When I asked my OPC about this he told me that it was only currently available for the Panamera & the 911 would be next, with the remaining models to receive updates later.

Yea, though if you send them the bulletin text in the first post on this thread, they should reboot their tiny brains and do something about it!

I'll give it a couple of weeks. If I've not received an email by then I'll be in to see them. So far I'm not too impressed with the whole PCM / CarPlay set up. Far too many issues with it & my iPhone 6

The whole C+ strategy is flawed. In the Apple / Android world there are many competing apps produced by large and / or specialist developers covering things like maps, flight data, train info, weather, events, stock market prices, hotel booking etc etc.

Porsche, Inrix etc. cannot compete with these developers. The apps they (Porsche) produce will almost invariably be less well specified / developed than the specialist providers.

A solution is for Porsche and other manufacturers to provide industry standard Apple / Android (a choice please) environments in their cars. If the market becomes big enough developers will focus on delivering apps with driver friendly interfaces.

I want to choose tha app I use not be constrained to the second rate Porsche offering; I might use Google maps, you might prefer Waze.

Also worth considering the safety aspect of this. Using an app on the move, even a simple one, can be quite distracting. Should really stop to check that flight etc. If stopped just use your phone and any app you like.........
