I may be missing the obvious but have two 'issues' I'd like to resolve with the navigation :-

- a shortcut to mute the guidance volume?

- changing the guidance to use metres not yards without changing other measurements on the car to kms

Thanks in advance for any tips

You will find the info in the manual: http://www.porscheownersmanuals.com/201 ... f-contents

Switching mute on and off: Press volume control A.

Thanks for your reply but doesn't that mute everything, not solely the navigation guidance? For example if you are listening to music and using the navigation but want to mute the navigation but not the music.

During Sat Nav sound directions then turn the volume knob to the lowest setting....

All is needed is a simple “ mute” button as on any cheapo garmin gps. Seems far too easy but heh ho not so for Porsche apparently?

I don’t think either is possible. I have guidance volume turned off all the time so don’t need a shortcut to shut it up! And many apps only do metres with kilometres. A quirk of being British that you would want that combination!

Yes I too have turned Navigation Volume to off (after just 2 weeks)... despite the system direction images being very irritating (I've come from an after market Pioneer). This was far more in tune with how I want to receive instructions... rather than showing a "staight ahead 2.5miles...and then I'll surprise you!" the Pioneer showed the distance to the next action and what that would be (ie 2.5 miles to left turn) The Pioneeer also has "verbosity" settings...I how many times it would state the same instruction before it needed to be performed.

To receive some instructions I've put "Repeat Instruction" on the ◊ button. Do any software engineers drive?
