I don’t class myself as a Luddite but the My Porsche stuff has completely passed me by.

So, reading this thread I tried to log in yesterday, had to upload a copy of my driving licence and my V5, but then received an email back saying that it would take a few days for my application to be accepted.

Is this normal ?
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?

My dealer set this up during the registration process, during which he sent me an email with a link to the Vodafone Porsche Car Connect (PCC) site, https://pcc.cobratelematics.com/cwp/log ... anguage=en, for me to register. This produced an eight digit validation code which he needed from me to set up PCC in the car. I don't know if you can do it yourself when you receive the code but a phone call to your OPC should answer that.

Thank you, Goron! Much appreciated! 8-)
I think that "clearly" should be in inverted commas, you have to know where in the depths of the PCM it is clearly listed.

Not quite true, as I discovered today.

When you search for a POI, you can search clearly within your uploaded lists as this vid shows:

This is the same list (Whisky) that I used in the above post.

Ah, what I meant by "clearly" is that you can see your lists spelled out, vs having to find something generic like "bars" and hope for the best!

Yes this thread again.

Right, as I now have a 911 with pcm 4.0 I thought I’d have another stab at importing speed camera poi’s.
I followed the instructions and managed to get them into the pcm. :D

Trouble is I have no proximity warning sound when I drive past a poi. I have checked the settings and the proximity warning sound box is checked. I did have the navigation voice at zero so even tried turning that up, but still nothing.

Anyone come across something like this, that can shed some light please?

Thanks.

Can’t help with the question, sorry, but the fact that you’re up and about would suggest a successful op?

Yes, thanks Paul.

Was given the ok to drive yesterday so wasted no time whatsoever. I’ve been like a big kid of late getting in the car and fiddling with the buttons. I then ventured from garage to drive to garage again, all in the name of rehabilitation of course!!

Going to Wigan on Saturday, via Manchester so going to navigate along the A59 through the Dales. Can’t wait.

Now just to get the PCM to make a POI proximity noise.

The A59 goes from York to Liverpool, it is a prime route across the Pennines, with a few great stretches of driving road particularly through Blubberhouses where the problem is all about timing to travel that section when there is not a lot of traffic, get stuck in a queue behind a hgv and its a slow crawl.

No sure where you are travelling from but if you happen to be going through Gisburn turn off and head over the A682 to Barrowford where you can pick up the Motorway. I used to work in the area and loved to ride/drive this road to get from one of my work sites to another.

Thanks Col,
Looking to leave Teesside at 8am and as long as I am in Manchester for 11:30am I am free to go where the mood takes me. I’ll look at your route on google maps and re-plan.
