NOT good news, I thought I'd seen the back of additional 3rd party gadgets in the windscreen! :(
Maybe this latest twist is Porsche removing the upload button so they don't have to disable the PCM in France, I believe it was not allowed before for exactly this reason!

Could this be the answer? It's being rolled out in the UK RIGHT NOW!! Lets hope that it is either available now in PCM or will be part of an on-going update.

Interesting there are covering reports of mobile vans. I wonder how this legally fits with those who have been prosecuted for flashing lights to warn other drivers of such vans.

Interesting that google are rolling this feature out.

A little work around I tried was connecting the phone to carplay and opening Waze. Making sure that waze is still open I would press the “physical” map button under the pcm screen which would leave CarPlay active but would take me back into the Porsche operating system. I sometimes found leaving Waze within the CarPlay app would sometimes shut it down. I could then use the Porsche nav unit (I like getting the map and junction prompts on the third dial within the instrument binnacle) but you would also get the audiable alerts from waze.
Obvious downside to this is all calls and text messages would be handled by car play instead of the Porsche OS, which I personally think is executed terribly.
For what it’s worth, Waze did miss a mobile camera van that I drove past, so I added it myself by going back into CarPlay & the Waze app.

A little bit long winded but I assume Google maps will work in just the same way.

Mobile camera vans etc will always be a problem for speed camera warning systems. I used to subscribe to the PocketGPS world speed camera database. They had a system of members adding mobile cameras reports and then removing them if no report from a site for six months. Based on local knowledge, in my area that meant at any one time only about half the sites used were in the database at any one time.

I came to the conclusion that relying on a camera warning system to protect a license is not ultimately very viable and I now do my utmost to stick within 1 or 2 mph of limits.
