Hi all.
I fitted a dashcam to my 911 but ran into a few issues because I couldn't locate a switched live. Something to do with the Canbus remaining live for a period of time after you lock the car.. Anyway. I want to fit a dashcam to my macan turbo. Do any of you know which fuse is a switched live?

Thanks..

Hi I fitted a dashcam in my GTS I ran the cable down the passenger window screen pillar and then into the fuse box located at the end of the dash using piggy back fuse.

Thanks.. That's exactly what I did in the 911. The only issue is ensuring you use the correct fuse. That's the bit I'm struggling with..

You beat me to it Paul!

Fuse 10 is the switched supply on my Macan Turbo, 6 is the constant supply to the battery protector. Also there is a very handy stud and nut nearby to provide the earth connection.

BTW, I've PM'd Rob to ask if he can fix the images in my original post, which I think disappeared after the site upgrade. No response yet........

Had my GTS for a year and, following an incident, have just decided to fit a dashcam (Viofo A120 Duo). Thanks to the info on this forum I have sorted which fuses to use, but an issue which is bothering me is the routing of the power cable from the passenger side fuse to the front camera. Reading the posts the suggested route is up and across the top of the A-post and along the top of the windscreen. However, isn't there a safety issue here? Routing the cable across the top of the A-post places the cable directly over the Airbag. Could this not potentially interfere with the safe deployment of the Airbag?

At a point in time when I was researching this I came across some info which suggested that the Macan fuse box and the Q5 fuse box was the same . . . . here is a pic of my dash cam wired into my Q5 fuse box
