I've never known anyone on this forum successfully update the satnav dB on a PCM3.1. Sat Nav is an additional "module" to the PCM (Porsche Communication Management). But it was also in the standard equipment of the GTS.
So does this retrofit from Ebay work OK? Has anyone any experience of it? When I purchased my Macan in Sep 2015 I expected to be able to get satnav update in the future, at a cost. Now I have invested in a Brodit mount and use Waze. If I hadn't extended the warranty I would definitely be retrofitting CarPlay, possibly from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-CarP ... SwKIdaUmu2
I suspect that for Porsche to provide PCM3.1 nav updates is simply not worth their while as most of their high-spending customers have moved onto newer models, with OTA nav updates and/or CarPlay.
I have no experience but have been following developments and threads about it on the US Forum. One of the posters was 'Wizard263789' who runs an independent in the Channel Islands. Snap! I’d just googled that myself. I see for 2017-18 Macans its only £300.
