Following some of the topic on here around the 3 PAYG SIM I have purchased a 2 year 24GB card. When sticking it in the PCM 4, I only get 3G. Do any of you using the 3 SIM get LTE (4G) or are you also only getting 3G?

Maybe relevant, I am within the 2 year "free" data on the embedded SIM card in the PCM. This embedded card doesn't actually provide data for anything but the native apps. I am using an Android device.

Thanks for your input.

Despite the fact that when you use the Three SIM in an ipad you get 4G? Does this mean that the Three bandwith is incompatible with the PCM on 4G?

I have had 3 SIMs in my Macans and they show LTE so no problems at all, it does drop to 3G and no signal at all in some remote rural location I go to but that is no real problem.

I do not use streaming services I just have the SIM for updates, live traffic and Google Earth.

The only embedded SIM that I am aware of in Macan is that for the Tracker System.

The embedded SIM includes all of the Connect services I think Col, like navigation & infotainment and all the other apps, at least for the free period.

Coll, are you using the Three network or have the 3 cards been from different providers?

My first data only SIM card was with 12Gb and from 3 (if I remember the Gb right) it was £25 and bought off Amazon following advice given here.

The next one was bought last September off MyMemory and was c£27 again with 12Gb and again advice to buy from My Memory was given here. They were cheaper than Amazon at the time and whose price for a 3 SIM with 12Gb is today £31.12 and by comparison the same SIM is £27.99 from My Memory.

Neither has been problematic and both have been in my Sept built 2016 Turbo.

I have very occasionally seen LTE but it seems stuck on 3G most of the time when using ‘3’ SIMs.

My experience on EE cards is different (better).
