Thanks very much for that - certainly a route I'd go down and not as cripplingly expensive as I'd assumed.

I think Connect Plus became standard across the Macan range from March '17, together with the inevitable price rise!

maxf - do you want to post that image I suggested?
I will do - but didn't get a chance last night.

Is there any way I can tell if I have connect plus? I have nav with traffic updates and the porsche app so the car is definitely 'connected' somehow!
Check the bottom left corner of the screen. Next to the stack of bars that show the mobile signal strength is an icon that looks like two horizontal arrows pointing right and left. With the system on and loaded is there something above that icon like '3G', '4G' or 'LTE', or is there a line striking through it? If you have a data connection it will show as 3G or one of the others. If the line is through it you don't. That's the first check. Let us know what you see.

Ah, I've just seen your pic! No data connection. You need confirmation from the OPC if the car has the hardware for the data connection.

Thanks Nick. I don’t think it does. Signing on to the Porsche connect website gives me the message ‘car does not have connect so no apps available’ (or similar)! There is no slot for a sim under the pcm flap, just 2 SD cards, which probably doesn’t help.

Bit of a nightmare really. Does CarPlay not use the phone’s data?

Not looking good I'm afraid. When you plug your phone in I presume you don't get the options to select iPod or Car Play? If not then I think this confirms you do not have Connect and won't have access to Car Play.

As Paul suggests It looks like a conversation with the OPC.

That screen doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen on my non carplay car.
