Hi I bought my 2018 Gts in October, from a OPC.
Over the last few weeks we have had really strange smell in the car, I removed the mats which were quite dirty and washed them.
Whilst washing them I realised the smell in the car is actually the floor mats, I have thoroughly cleaned them and used bleach added to the soap solution.
I have them indoors drying now but all 4 of them still smell.
I have checked the carpets and they are all dry.
The car had 15k miles on the clock when I bought it and thought the mats looked brand new when I collected the car.
Is it standard practice for dealers to supply new mats on every sale?
Would they be covered under warranty?
I am really reluctant to put them back in the car and don't really want to spend £140 on a new set of mats!
Any thoughts?
Kev
Smelly all weather floor mats
Yes they are rubber like these :- https://content3.eu.porsche.com/prod/pag/tequipment/TeqFinder.nsf/TeqFinder?ReadForm&co=30&sp=1&ma=PCGB%20(RL)&bt=Macan%20I&ba=Macan&mo=&su=Floor%20mats&ka=&avty=G2_992_Macan%20I_Macan%20II_E3_981_991_991%20II_982_E1%20II_G1%20II_E2_E2%20II_G1_997%20II_987%20II&priceTest=&ac=product&pr=E1D15FA0D2DFDE1AC12579810049EF6B&lspr=B1995D9235B25AF8C1257F07004B727B$Macan$Macan%20I$Macan%20GTS_E1D15FA0D2DFDE1AC12579810049EF6B$Macan$Macan%20I$Macan%20GTS_819A13216B3B44EDC1257981004A0795$Macan$Macan%20I$Macan%20GTS

Carpet mats are standard spec and these can, if soiled, stay smelly no matter what.
Is it definitely the mats that smell or the actual carpet in the car? I have used “shake and vac” etc in the past with some success if this is the case.
I can’t see how the rubber all-weather mats you describe would stay unpleasant (other than a rubber smell) after a good power wash with any soap / bleach / Mr Muscle.....
(certainly not a warranty issue as mentioned above)

I have had these mats in my car since new. Can’t say I have had any problems with them. However, they have, on occasion, hidden the fact the sunroof was leaking and the carpet underneath was damp......

Sometimes cheaper non genuine rubber mats can whiff pretty strongly for quite a while. They will eventually settle down but proper Porsche mats shouldn't. I've had a set in the new Cayenne from deliver a few weeks ago and there was no discernable smell at all.
