Heated seats slow to heat

As it’s turned colder, I used my front seat heating yesterday, but found that they took a while before actually heating.....could this be due to the additional battery load as a result of using the heated steering wheel and max air fan speed to demist the windscreen?

My wife used to complain that the leather seats on our Macan SD took too long to warm up. The GTS has alcantara centres so a direct comparison is not possible.

The fact that you've placed a large electrical demand on the alternator/battery might well have an effect at low speed.

My Alcantara centre panels seats heat up within 5 minutes after starting from a cold overnight. I need to drop them to 2 lights after 10 minutes.

In comparison the all leather seats in our Leon take 10 minutes to feel warm and another 5 minutes to feel hot. They then do not need turning down to 2 lights on an average (30+ mins.) trip.

It was roughly 10 minutes after the first overnight start, but thereafter it was about 3-5 minutes. The reason I ask is because the seats in my previous Audi Q5 heated up almost immediately, but they had Alcantara seat and back bases.

Just been out in mine, with Alcantara.
Within 2 minutes I was getting a nice warm feeling on the base and seat back.
I was in jeans and jumper. My wife was wearing a coat and said she couldn't feel any warmth for about 5 minutes.

Spent 4 hours outside today, not properly dressed and got near hypothermic, chattering teeth etc. In car, seats on full and it was warming my back and backside within minutes. Took the whole 40 mile journey to feel like my core temp had come back though!

Just to update this thread, my local OPC (Portsmouth) investigated the drivers seat heating problem, and found an intermittent fault on the seat heating pad, so they renewed the pad under warranty, and it’s now working correctly.....so very pleased with their service πŸ‘πŸ‘
