Started to clean up the wheels on the car a couple of days ago.

First problem, undoing the damn wheel bolts, I’m to old to have to jump up and down on the Wheel Brace to loosen the bolts but I eventually managed.

Next problem, they are oh so heavy to man handle, so its three Weetabix each morning.

Third problem, the inside rims were so caked with crud and road grime that after removing it and the road tar that seemed to be stuck everywhere it was clay bar time, so that is£15 in clay bay cost alone.

Fourth problem, what a lot of dings and gouges, not as though I have been off roading just throw ups from the crap road surfaces we have.

With each wheel clean, I used the Gtechniq Panel Wipe to remove any residue and to key the surfaces for the Getechniq Wheel Armour, another £50 for the kit.

Leave the coated wheel for a day then moved on to the next.

Currently the third wheel is on the bench drying (OK, I’m knackered, it will have to wait until tomorrow).

Whilst the whole car was Gtechniq’d when I bought it that was many years ago so its time for a full Macan refresh and the wheels are the first stage.

Been very lucky that I used the Porsche jack and not my hydraulic trolley jack which I used as a secondary backup only to find it had lowered itself overnight. Another task to do to repair the soddin thing once I have finish the car. Good job I am not short of jacks with a scissor unit now being the secondary.

Then there is the materials for the bodywork so now I am thinking it probably would be cheaper to have got a Pro Detailer to refurbish and re-treat the car.

But hay ho, at least I will have the satisfaction of doing it myself even if I will then need to apply for a Blue Badge.

Wet couple of days so time in my hands, unfortunately (or not) I can't do daytime TV .So I spent my time sorting through the screws, nails and assorted bits and pieces I've managed to amass over the years on the assumption that they'd come in handy one day. The only small problem now is what to fill the numerous empty compartments with ?
I'd much rather have done my wheels but they aren't that dirty yet. :)

Would be more unfortunate if you could do daytime TV! I could send you half of my collection to fill the void.... although I did have to dig out a 2" brass CS screw today and on Monday knocked up a composter from "stock", so maybe I need to hang on to to it all. :? :|

I’ve been retired 10years now and the time has flown by.

I need to sort my garage out as it’s getting a new roof soon.

Did a bit last week and a trip to the local tip in the Macan, looks like I may have picked up a slow puncture 🙁
