I've had my Macan for a month now and dome 1150 miles. Still running in. However, I have two noises that keep repeating and I am wondering if anyone else has these.

First one seems to be gearbox related. It occurs when taking off in first gear just as the car changes to second. There is a clunk from the front/centre of the car. Not loud but noticeable Could it be one of the clutches operating? Doesn't seem to happen between any other gear changes.

The second noise is more of a creak and comes from either rear corner of the car when going around corners. It sounds like the creak comes from the outside wheel or the suspension on that wheel as the car tries to roll in that direction. It happens at low speed or at least that is when I can hear it. I have air suspension and PTV+ so it may be something to do with those.

Does anyone else have either of these?

Sounds a bit dissapointing Giz9 - I'm hoping to be able to let you kniow sometime in the middle of next week when mine is finally delivered!
You won't get a clunk from the clutch but you might get one from a weak engine / gerabox mount ( which you won't hear in other gears as speed and road noise increases)
Can't think if anything offhand for rear body creak (especially both sides which is unusual)
The key to resolving is to physically demonstrate to a deakership technician ( not receptionist or salesman) to make sure you are all hearing the same noise!

Never had any odd noises in last 14 months from Macan 1 or 2. By the way I am very paranoid about creaks and squeaks and with my previous Cayman and Boxster was always stuffing bits of cloth in trim to stops errant noises. my Macans so far have been the best cars ever for lack of odd noises.

although I only picked up on Monday I can say I haven't noticed any noises/rattles etc. Maybe it;s because I'm concentrating on not grinning too much when I'm driving Tongue

Giz9, mine is an S Petrol from March 2015 and does have that same rear end clunck at low speed turning that seems to come from the suspension. Already warned dealer who told me they had tightened something that seemed loose, but the noise is still there.

Do you have steel or air? Do you have PASM? PTV+?

I've got the same noise. Asked for it to be investigated in conjunction with a concern that there was a PDK problem causing take off lag, but OPC said they tested and found no clunks / noises... :(

You really heed to insist on going out with the technician doing the job to demonstrate specifically which noise you are hearing - its the only way to cure rattles and clunks etc

Once mine is fully run-in after a couple more weeks, I shall be doing that.

I had an annoying creak in the front of the dashboard but it was intermittent and only occurred on certain road surfaces, a technician took it it out with me, he heard it and fixed it. Thumbs Up
