Creaks and clunks
Hi Nick, just picked up a 64 plate SD. I'm having exactly the same problem with the overhead console rattle you describe above. Really annoying because otherwise the car is incredibly quiet on most road surfaces.
Did you ever get this fixed? Or figure out where it was coming from?

Hi rage31. You quote gintonic in your post but say Hi Nick and refer to the overhead console rattle that I mentioned. Who is your question addressed to?rage31 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 11:04 am

Ah, ok. No, it was investigated by the dealership but no action taken. It seems to have stopped, or at least not repeated itself. It may have only been on certain infrequent road surfaces. I felt it was the buttons that were slightly loose and that they vibrated but it isn’t an issue that annoys me now. Sorry that’s not much help!

You may find that the overhead console has been removed in the past, either to repair something or perhaps to fit a dashcam, etc. It is apparently very easy to break one of the clips that secures the panel into the headliner - this would leave it insecure and could cause the symptoms that you describe. This is mentioned a few times over on the US Forum - I'll try to find a link.
EDIT: Look at image no9 of the first post here: https://www.macanforum.com/forum/modifi ... ost2312042

Hmmm I'm afraid I just wouldn't buy the 'they all do it sir' line on a £60k+ car, no way! When I had a BMW coupe and a tech came out to me once due to loss of power (and a flat spot on acceleration) and we were discussing how every car has certain 'characteristics'... the tech said to me, we shouldn't use that word about cars, because all it means is there's an in built fault that the dealer can't fix, precisely because it is a manufactured in-built fault!!macanations wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2016 7:45 am I have a Diesel S MY17. And the knock is still there after 6 months. It's my only regret about the car because i hear the knock every time the car passes 10mph- every time. Its really disappointing that Porsche would build a car that has a knock every time the car takes off from start. I can't believe it to be honest but i keep hearing that the OPC's say its in all the Macans and its 'normal'.
Maybe the face lift model will have ironed out these issues... they simply shouldn't occur in cars this expensive!!
