Hi - 2015 Macan Diesel S , with Pano, with only 28k on the clock, went in to OPC for service and “campaign” rectification of transfer box fluid (which as an aside has abated with a change a fluid). They’ve acknowledge if that fails PGB will replace until Sept 22 (7yrs). Anyway real reason for posting here, they discovered boot and floor (carpet / insulation) was saturated. They estimated 14 hours / £2500 to investigate, dry out. Scared me to death.

I’ve checked pano roof drains which flow clear, no staining internally of roof lining/ pillar trims. I’ve emptied the boot, looked behind removable panels which had lots of droplets of water on the insulation to the inner arches! Bottom of battery compartment looks dry. We haven’t had any rain in the last few days, so plan is to take it to a drive thru’ car wash and reinvestigate as I thought that may be more thorough than just hosing the car.

Any ideas please, best alternative to the local OPC is an unofficial specialist and/or the local garage to ramp the car and review.
When I bought the car last year I chipped the price to buy a 2year OPC extended warranty as private vendor hadn’t extended original warranty.
10 months into ownership and really peed off with car which has already cost me £1500 to have adblu tank and metering replaced at my cost, the transfer box scare which the OPC did not tell me was part of an extended warranty, that was the very friendly specialist! Help please any thoughts recommendations welcomed.

Are you certain that both front and rear drains of the pano roof are not blocked? When you say 'running clear', how have you tested them? Especially as they exit behind the wheel arch liners so free flow is not that easy to see.

You might also want to check your rear wiper washer is working correctly. And if you bought a warranty, why did you have to pay for a new Adblu tank??

Wouldn't take your car through a car wash either.
Terrible for the paint work.

Abridged full story, set out intending to get warranty from OPC, price of car reflected this. Transpires you need to own the car for 90 days before OPC will do 111 pt check and offer warranty. 90 days expired on the day I was admitted to hospital and car was unused for two months. Booked into OPC for service/111pt check as before described. OPC won’t give warranty as water ingress manifest.

Are there two outlets from pano roof exiting in front arches? OPC talked about the two rears exiting above the rear scuttle panels. Parked my car on slope, controlled amount of water poured down each side and flow quickly appeared on the ground.

Mindful of potential car wash damage and will try hosing first, droplets inside rear wheel arches on the ‘rubberised’ insulation have dried out overnight, I’m thinking of it more likely to be condensation from the drying soaked insulation rather than direct leaking. Amazon due to deliver silicone lube for roof seals later today.

Noting what’s in a previous post on excessive condensation in the car is soaked flooring the source, can’t see that amount of condensation created from ‘moist breath’, there’s got to be a source. Is this another problem PGB should address a la transfer box concessions?

Any recommendation in the Devon /Cornwall area for me to get professional investigation and solution of this?

There are two at the front that run down the A pillars and exit behind the wheel arch liner at the front. There are also two at the rear that run down the D pillar and exit behind the wheel arch liner at the rear.

Thanks, it gobsmacks me the local OPC didnt talk about two at the front, it’s only being on here has raised my awareness.only goes to make me avoid the place.

Having retired and ‘invested’ in the car as an outright cash purchase having owned three 911’s over the last 30 years I’m now on the brink of becoming so disenfranchised with the “brand”. With all the tech in the Taycan and its derivatives over the next couple of years I’m wondering what un resolved problems will arise. I’m thinking of sorting this water problem out and getting shot of it. It really exasperates me that I get bs from the supplying dealer who then rings me up trusting I’ll give a 10/10 on the post service customer says survey! They don’t appear to get that a sub 30k mile car shouldn’t have these problems. It’s a great motor very well specced and a pleasure to drive, but the cost per mile is becoming prohibitive.

I’m holding back from blasting the OPC until they manage the transfer box issues thru to a conclusion.

Thanks for your responses.

Bought it privately, it had 25KM on the clock when I acquired it and as before the price was chipped to pay for a warranty which I couldn’t get as I’ve said above.I’ve spoken to Williams Crawford about transfer box before going to the OPC. Williams Crawford actually checked for me on the PGB database and confirmed mine qualifies for a replacement once the OPC goes thru the process with oil changes, as previous that was done on Wednesday and so far so good, I’ve got until Aug 2022 to qualify for a replacement. The OPC were totally silent on the replacement until I mentioned it.

Once I’ve exhausted the use of the OPC on the trans box, I’ll be going to the specialist for all future works.

I hope other members here realise the trans box replacement has a ‘sunset date’’?
