Mine have been replaced and now, about a month on, are once again deteriorating. Porsche don't seem to care very much. Where does "fit for purpose come in to this"?

I suppose, with my cynical head on, the purpose is to allow exhaust gasses to escape which happens perfectly.

The cosmetic side doesn’t affect the performance. Can’t say it doesn't p1ss me off ‘though, every time I clean the car ☹️👎☹️

Just seen a GTS being advertised by Swindon OPC.

Does this illustrate the exhaust tips issue? :geek:

Mine was specked with the sports tips in chrome. OK, they are cleaned with metal polish every so often, but look as shiny as hell when done.
If anyone is particularly anal about the looks of the dark tips, why not look around for a different type of coating, which is available on the market, and go for it yourself. I know that there will be a cost implication, but at least it will allways look good.
I had the exhaust manifolds of my 968 done with ceramic coating. Mainly to keep the heat out of the engine bay. They still look as good as when done.

Had mine Black tips replaced under warranty about a month ago,
bit Anal with keeping them clean and polish for about 5 seconds after every use with AG Show Shine, they still look mint.

Sad but I won't them to stay looking as they should :D

Hi

I have reported my Macan S diesel speckled black exhaust tips I was told that it must be the cleaning fluid I am using ect ect

stock reply I think, the OPC said we will try and go for a warranty claim on them but doesn't hold out much hope. they are terrible
looking and Porsche know about it. Yet some dealers can get them replaced for their customers and other dealers can't how does
that work surely a problem is a problem.

Yes It is and Porsche are just not taking responsibility for it, plenty on this forum with one, even two changes under warranty but all suffer the same failure and nothing to do with the cleaning process.

Funny how some differ.

My GTS has done 7k , 2.5 Years in & Porsche replaced under warranty, 1000 miles on & no signs of Speccles yet.

Fingers crossed.
