GTS exhaust tips
My almost 1 year old GTS has ‘speckled tips’ which have been apparent for quite some time. It seems that Porsche will replace these tips when someone complains, but the replacements are only of the same quality as the originals. Just keeping on replaceing these tips until the warranty runs out is totally unsatisfactory and unacceptable. What are Porsche saying about this issue and more to the point, what are they going to do about it?
I am still waiting to hear if they will replace mine. Car was in for service 6 weeks ago when they examined them and sent a case to Porsche apparently. Sent a couple of reminder emails to dealer and got responses they were talking to Porsche and would come back soon. Making it sound like the biggest decision ever for Porsche but I'm kinda thinking the dealer are being a bit useless. Either way it's not too impressive for what is a very simple low cost warranty issue.
Just got exhaust tips mine replaced on Friday. They even replaced the wheel centres under warranty. My car is May 2017 and around 7k miles on it. Now to take to my detailer to protect it.
Any recommendations on what can be used to slow the appearance of pitting on the tips again..

I know it won't be the best option as most of you will still be under warranty but a ceramic coating like zircotec would be more durable. I had a quote from them in the past for 4 tailpipes which was £200 from memory.
A couple of us have had the tips replaced more than once and I am sure I wasn't the only one who had them ceramic coated. It made little difference

I don’t mean ceramic coated as in paint protection, look up Zircotec.
Learned something again. Thanksjonnydrama wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 4:44 pm I don’t mean ceramic coated as in paint protection, look up Zircotec.

My SD is a year old, nearly 9k miles and with the black sports tailpipes. It rarely gets cleaned (every 2 months?), but I just spray Silicone lubricant onto them after washing. No corrosion evident to date.
