OK, so my first set were changed at 3 months / 3000 miles ish.
The new replacement set started to show the same pitting after just a few tanks of fuel so I re-sent photos to the dealership who replied that it wasn't as pronounced as the first time so they could do nothing but I was to monitor and report.
Looking at them now (9 months / 8000 miles there is no more pitting BUT they seem to me to be not as black as they were and a bit shinier. Either autosol is a lot more agressive than I thought and I've polished off all the black paint in a perfectly uniform manner (unlikely) or the paint has self-healing properties (even less likely)
When I clean it properly tomorrow I'll have a proper look and take some more pics.

Ever since I've had bikes I've used this instead of Autosol. http://www.motorex.com/index.cfm?oid=11 ... tragId=114

My Macan tailpipes may not be painted finish but they look like new, as does the exhaust on my 17 year old Triumph Sprint!

Had mine replaced after around 8000 miles or so. Then 1 tank after the new ones were fitted the same happened. OPC Tonbridge confirmed it was another warranty issue. No replacement fitted as I don't want to head back every 300 miles or so

I wonder if Porsche have quietly fixed this issue now? My GTS is just coming up to six months old with 4k miles and no sign of any pitting so far.

I love the way the black tips have a dark chrome look when they're nice and clean

Still waiting for the second replacement set. I was informed last week that the issue was still on their to be resolved list at the OPC. Not sure if this is a case of CBA or waiting for me to forget it. The latter won't be happening. ;)

My first replacement set showed the same pitting at first but now are a completely uniform, lighter dark chrome colour as per the photo above so it's no longer on my " to do" list😉

Will you be getting a new set though? I have asked if I can "bank" the new set and swap it later on during it's life. I can sort of guess what the answer is.
