I’d take it back and see what they say. It’s definately not how they should be. I’ll be taking mine back but I’m not going out my way to do it.

My advice would be to take it back to them and be a bit more insistant this time. OPC Reading replaced mine late last year, no questions asked. Alternatively, you could try a different OPC if they continue to mess you around.

Got a year old Turbo PP with Black tail pipes with pretty bad pitting. took pictures when i took delivery and the guy asked me to go to a local dealer(i live in Kent, picked the car from Perth) to get this fixed under warranty. Fingers crossed they replace them without too much fuss.

Also, any recommendations on how to keep them black after i get new ones ? i have got the full Gtechniq package on the rest of the car.

Bogus - I have my second set of replacements on order under warranty. Unless they have changed the coating process, this issue will continue to rear its head. The original set was Gtechniqued from new, the replacement set pitted after 300 miles. I am with Porsche Tonbridge and they are aware of the issues and never been difficult about it.

Hi

Read this thread with interest. Are there aftermarket carbon fibre tips available for the Macan?! I've got the black tips on a S. Seen nothing so far but I wouldn't be replacing them if this happens. I'd rather just put on carbon fibre ones rather than painted ones.

Mine were replaced recently, haven't started pitting yet but they've only been on for 100 miles.

The tips on my GTS Macan were pitted when I sold it at eighteen months old. Because of this I have kept a close eye on the black exhaust tips on my 911 GTS. Looking closely at them they seem to be a different design where they are now two part tip, the black part is outside the exhaust pipe so much less likely to be effected by pitting.

Good to hear, Rab. The black PSE tailpipes on my T look ok so far, after 3,630 miles :geek:

No sign of pitting on mine at 4.5k (give or take) whereas the Macan showed signs at about 2k mikes
