Are these legal?

Cant see why not, Ive had no issues with on coming traffic.
They are no brighter than Xenons, plus being projector (focused) headlamps they don't spread the light.

i am pretty sure this invalidates your cover, unless the insurer ok's it. insurers will find any excuse not to pay..ldn20162017-01-04 23:32:41

Hi All, these HID work great. Also have the DRL/Low Beam HID.

"Also have the DRL/Low Beam HID."

Where did you get these from?

Your car WILL fail a MOT if it is fitted with an aftermarket HID system as there is no self levelling or headlight wash, the rules for testers were changed earlier this year and there is a number of discussion of various other car and bike forums to testify to this.

LED's appear to be a little more grey and appear to be at the whim of the individual tester, I retrofitted quality LED's to my sons polo which had cut offs as good as OE halogen but this still failed a MOT and I had to swap them out after a second garage said they would not pass them.

Personally I would stick the extra bright (not wattage) halogens in the Macan and accept that you will be replacing them frequently.

After market HIDs have been known to blacken the reflectors of the standard headlamp in a fairly short period of time. I'd steer well clear.
