I think the bumper has to come off and I'll have to fit screens- its about the only bit of the car I haven't removed yet.

Are you the chap who took the doors off to fit/remove the running boards...?

Yes, thats right Simon. Raised on blocks in the shade of a plane tree I believe.

Whilst talking about the shutters.

This morning I hit traffic relatively early on during my commute. Stationary I became aware of a sound very much like the wine from window washer engine. Puzzled I muted the radio to listen where it came from. Oil temperature at 86C (coolant at 90c). As it came from the front of the car I assumed it was the louvres opening. I had never heard it before so thought I ask.

Anyone else noticed this?

We are currently having a plague of grasshoppers/locusts, and Christmas beetles (think Egypt scarab beetles)

Sometimes, living in the UK isn't so bad after all LOL

The only Christmas beetles I've encountered over here is the year I received the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album as a present.

I can understand why forum members might be reluctant to buy a secondhand Macan from me.
Actually it wasn't as bad as it might have been and it all went back without parts left over.
As Nick suggested the the shutters are open at operating temps- not difficult as we've had a few 38 degree days.
The lower radiator is the big problem as it Hoovers grasshoppers up from the road. Most of the fin damage is from pressure washing
The answer is to cable tie stainless steel gauze used on security doors (not a big call for flyscreen doors in UK) to the back of the grill and watch for overheating.
This was from a 10 km drive. I'll work on the badger bar next.

....and to think some on here in the UK worry about fitting non-genuine wiper blades or screen wash for fear of invalidating the warranty.....
