Gents,
As many of you have a great deal of experience with Porsche vehicles I wonder if anyone has seen the ring that has appeared on one of my wheels ?
Hopefully you can see a dark ring that seems to go around just outside the wheel centre cap. Its darker on the left bottom of the image as it seems to be a groove going round. I've tried polish etc but can stil see it.
Just got home and noticed this, can't blame the wife as there is no other marks or damage on the wheel. Also due to position I doubt this has been caused by something coming up from the road ?
I did have new tyres last year and thought perhaps from the balancing machine although I've never noticed this before, although the car was particularly dirty on arrival home which seemed to highlight it .
Anyone seen anything like this on similar wheels ?

Many previous posts about corrosion on wheel centre ( esp 21s)
Normally covered under warranty.....seal the new ones with a bit of clear laquer around the edges
Pop the centre cap out; it might just be a bit of crud .

Doesn't look like corrosion. More like a curious circular indentation...

Sorry Paul perhaps I've not explained it very well, it's not the centre cap itself it's about 3-4 mm outside it, it just shows up in the image above, a dark line around the outside of the centre cap.

Ok I can see it part way between the Porsche centre cap and the hole for the wheel lug. Looks like it was caused when you had new tyres. From memory, when the alloy is mounted on the machine at a tyre pace, it sits shiny side up but I think they lock it down with a large lug over the whole left by the centre cap

Only thing that would explain this slight damage

Beg your pudding

You're right, it looks like a partial score just outside the centre cap....can't think what might have caused that....have the wheels been refinished?

It might just be where they were clamped to change the tyres....but a bit late now I suppose?
