Vibration related rattle near mirror post on driver's side
I have been experiencing an annoying vibration related rattle that is most apparent while driving on worn concrete freeway surfaces, The rattling noise appears to be coming from a source near where the mirror arm attaches to the door body or slightly forward of this area. On smooth asphalt the "rattle" is not apparent. Dealer thought it might be coming from the mirror and door latch panel but could not find a solution. This is on a 2016 Macan S. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi - just double-check it is not coming from plastic panel under dash.
This plastic panel is not fixed where it meets bulkhead under steering wheel. If you put your head into brake pedal area under dash you will see where plastic panel meets a metal flange not far from brake pedal. If you lightly tap the panel you will see the plastic vibrates against the metal. Simply use some strong (3M VHB) double-sided tape and that will cure it! Hope that is the problem?
