That looks like a really savage car door opening - lucky there wasn't a passing cyclist! Such a common problem these days and frustrating manufacturers don't take it more seriously (armour plating anyone!) Anyhow, good luck with the repair - should be good as new before you know it.

Yep, Certain days of the week dependent on which part of the country your in where Waitrose car parks should be avoided at all costs. I always park furthest away from the entrance and still have had more than the odd altercation with the public at large, most of whom think your car is either in the way, something to lean on, or line up against with their door safely wedged open against yours  Answer don't go there until they've all gone home and shop on line "Able and Cole" never go near our cars and deliver everything you need to survive in style  🙊 this may be considered an advertisement, I just use them

Happened to us in Waitrose Horsham. Looked like they’d rammed it with a trolley. Unfortunately it was the rear bumper and it took a gouge out of the paintwork rather than making a dent so cheap dent removal wasn’t an option.

It’s a nuisance when ever I take the GTS out I’m having to consider where I park it so that some person who doesn’t care less or is a little envious doesn’t do a side swipe with their door and do damage that’s not only in inconvenient but cost hundreds to repair, sometimes I think I’d be less stressed 😩 driving a 5 year old Focus.
And better off,

I keep another supermarket car for just these reasons. Most people in supermarket carparks be it Waitrose or Aldi have no respect for other property. You only have to see how they mow anyone in their way down with their trollies inside to get the idea.
