Window and Wind Noise

I have suspected that my Macan was suffering from wind noise from the drivers side window for some time now. Linked to the issue was a poor running/grating window when opening and closing.
After a bit of detective work I have found that the drivers A pillar which guides the glass into the door should have cushioning felt on both sides. Unfortunately, the outer piece of felt is missing and I guess, at some time, it has been dragged down into the door recess when the window was lowered.
Luckily under warranty, as the dealer suspect having to dismantle the door card and replace the whole A-pillar part :?

This sort of thing can happen in freezing weather if the window is lowered when it might be frozen into the guides. Good that the OPC is going to do it under warranty.

Hi there, I had a similar issue with the window grating noise. I took mine in for warranty repair and they replaced the window trim/molding and now the grating noise is gone. But since the repair, I've notice a faint whine (wind noise) coming from the A pillar. Mind you, I don't think I would normally notice this is any other car but with the Macan's cabin being so quiet, I do. Especially pronounced at highway speeds.

I looked and notice that they had not replace the outer moldings and felt lining looked partially flattened. I hate the idea of them taking apart the door again to replace the piece. I'm contemplating just living with it...

My Macan SD suffers from a similar wind noise issue from the passenger side when travelling over approx 50mph. Annoyingly its not there all the time but is more pronounced when the external temp is low. Can't see anything obvious causing it either.

Thin application of silicone grease may help.

My Porsche centre mentioned that they had seen issues previously with the window trapping and pinching the felt that guides the window when it closes up into the A Pillar on the Macan.
The individual in-charge of warranty repairs said they would like the car for 2 days to replace the window seals, water test and road test for the wind noise that I have noticed around 70mph so I am fairly hopeful that they will sort it.
I too am uneasy about them replacing door trim but as the car is into its 3rd year now it seemed sensible to get it replaced under warranty. I am fairly OCD so if it is not 100% when it comes back then they can try again. However, I will periodically lightly lubricate the seals to keep them 'slidy' and maintain the quiet Macan cabin.
