Imoral, profiteering maybe......😉
Hmmm, is it that clear tho? It took me quite a few looks at different seat/leather options before I noticed that the sports seats actually come in leather (you only see this when you click the info button and look at the pop up panel describing the sports seats, it says ‘seats in smooth finish leather right at the bottom!!)

It would be very easy for someone to choose sports seats, not realising they are leather, then go for the leather interior (including leather seats) option... and without realising it they’ve paid twice for the leather on their seats!!

But you’re right, the info IS there... you just have to be very careful when speccing your car not to get taken for a very expensive ride!!

Profiteers are the flippers who buy a GT model, barely use it, then sell it on for a massive profit, potentially to a genuine enthusiast who actually intends to drive & enjoy the car! ;)
Not just GT models... quite a few people here put in LOIs way in advance for a car that they know they can sell a few months down the line for same if not more money, typically specced "for sale" so the second hand market is flooded with bland vehicles :/
Used to have 2016 Macan Turbo PHCKCL70
Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.
Now a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR

...and maybe the configurator is wrong? You can't actually order a custom build car at the moment as far as I know.

Possibly, although when I configured an outgoing model early this year (out of curiosity) it seemed the same scenario! The facelift base model is currently on the configurator, whether you can order one tho is anybody's guess!

I went into my local OPC yesterday and was told they were expecting one last weekend, but there has apparently been a delay and a new Macan is not now expected in the showroom until the end of the year!

When you actually order a car it is done on the OPC configurator, which is a slightly different tool to the one on the website.

Fair, although:

Sounds like Porsche to me :)

And of course, a fool and his/her money are soon parted...
We’re all fools on here then! Well, most of us! ;)

Oh cool, hopefully it’ll work out a bit cheaper on their own configurator then!!!

When I ordered my first Macan way back in early 2014 the information was very limited so I ordered the leather package not knowing I could have had leather just by ordering the comfort or sports sears. However I liked the leather dash, armrests etc so ordered the leather package with sports seats on my second Macan in 2015. My current and third Macan was pre registered and came with comfort seats and leather package.
This is a pic of the leather you get with the leather package on the gen 1 Macan.
