Last year I bought the sports exhaust complete with internal switch to open or close the baffles, considering I paid around £2000 for what is only a couple of back boxes with electronic baffles the sound is crap, I am considering cutting the back boxes with a cross cut bench saw, taking some of the baffles out( not the electronic operating ones obviously) and TIG welding the boxes back up, or does anyone on here have any other advice, thank you, russell fox.
Are you doing something wrong as the sound from mine is great, but it is a diesel. I’ve never heard anything as good as this.
June 2017 Macan GTS in Carmine red with 21” gloss black sport classics, GTS leather package, Air, PASM, PDLS+, pano roof, Sports Chrono, 18 way seats, BOSE, surround view, heated seats front and rear, carbon side blades and carbon interior package.
what sort of sound are you after Russell?
I have a turbo with PSE and think they have judged it well, about 10-20% louder but not too droney, add some pleasing crackles on the overrun
But then I am not a fan of Subaru bean can or Jag crackle and pop type exhausts.
If you care, adding PSE would add value, hacking away at it and welding would destroy any value and put buyers off

2017 - Macan Turbo, with most of the toys (sold)
2008 - manual 997.1 Turbo (sold)

I'd take it to Litchfield and get them to look at real aftermarket solutions. You could look at Remus or Supersprint - both have integrated electronic actuators. Wouldn't know what your chop up is likely to do to emissions etc! You're brave though...I'll give you that!reynard 1956 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 10:51 pm Last year I bought the sports exhaust complete with internal switch to open or close the baffles, considering I paid around £2000 for what is only a couple of back boxes with electronic baffles the sound is crap, I am considering cutting the back boxes with a cross cut bench saw, taking some of the baffles out( not the electronic operating ones obviously) and TIG welding the boxes back up, or does anyone on here have any other advice, thank you, russell fox.
