Took wife’s car yesterday for a town visit as she’s away.

Should have taken the little c1 run about I use 🤦‍♂️
as came back to this, utterly maddening as was parked well out the way. Nothing on dash cam of any use either.

Wife was devastated when she came home and saw it as it’s her baby.

Thankfully we had 3 year scuff and scratch insurance (£190 well spent it seems) which should cover it but maddening none the less as prior to this the car was utterly immaculate not a single scratch, chip or slightest swirl anywhere.

Still could have been worse as not dented / cracked the plastic just paint.

Looks like a plastic bumper did it as some of the black scuffs came away with cutting compound.

Some inconsiderate Tw@ts about

Agreed - completely maddening, but hopefully a smart repair can easily use the panel joints and swage line to create a good finish you are happy with. Quarter bumper panel PPF could also then help to cover any blending issues, and hopefully protect from any similar 'accidents'.

Sorry to see

With supermarket Armageddon on us, I don’t think our Porsche’s will be going near those places for the time being and will take the Seat

I guess it could have been worse

Maybe get a brighter colour next time ;) ;)

I agree, the nutters are out everywhere. Passed my local Waitrose this (Sunday) morning at 10.15, it usually is quiet as only just opened but the car park and entrance was more congested than any Christmas Eve I have seen. Gave it a miss and got my paper at the newsagents, suggest best to self isolate all Porsche’s until further notice 🤒👍

Sympathise and empathise. And one too many so when at home I have, reluctantly, taken to parking two wheels on the pavement.

So I’ve been out of action a few days due to an op but the ding insurance (tidyalloys) sent their approved repairer (automotive smart repair).

Wow utterly appalling job. Anyone in the south west if they come to you and it’s a South African call Brad do not let him hear your car. He sprayed it in the riviera blue and it isn’t that.

It was incredibly difficult to get info from Porsche to be fair as the code on the car was 998 (which just means paint to sample). Got there in the end after some digging and it’s actually Mexico blue 336. I bloody new it as my GT4 was that colour and riviera a bit lighter.

However worse the the wrong colour was fact that he got over spray everywhere and all over my garage floor and the job was shoddy. 7 hours after the job started he left and advised he would have to return with right paint.

He’s lucky I was out of action as i would have beaten the ***t out of him.

I called tidy alloys this am an to be fair they and the manager of the repairer were horrified at the pictures both agreed it was the worse job they had seen.

It’s being dropped elsewhere tomorrow to someone recommend for the horror show paint to be rectified in the right colour.

It’s also booked in next week for a 8 hour detail of 2 stage machine polish and new ceramic coating. They are picking up the tab also and to clean the garage floor.

So good response from the dent insurer all things considered.

A few sample pis of the horror show attached. Will post the proper job once’s it’s done and post detail and it’s should be back it it’s flawless pre scrap condition .... no thanks to Brad 🤦‍♂️

Bloody hell. It looked better when you'd polished the worst of the damage out and there was just a small black area. At least it sounds as if there will eventually be a good outcome.

The heading of your post can be applied to certain repairers as well as car park maniacs :)
