The Porsche M+S tyres are ‘proper’ winter tyres. My 20” Dunlop winters are slightly quieter and softer than the 20” summers. So far, my most recent experience on snow with winters has been in our Yeti. The grip was incredible, no drama, just going and stopping on demand, including on quite steep slopes. Most of the neighbours either left their summer shod cars in the garage, or had to walk home!

No experience yet of my Macan on winter tyres, but had 8 years of running a Skoda Octavia vRS on 17” winter tyres and it was terrific, it would go anywhere never got stuck at all. I once overtook a VW Toerag slipping & sliding all over the road in Otley just drove past & up the hill no drama at all that was in about 9” of fresh snow. On 18” summer tyres in winter it wouldn’t go anywhere!Nuclear Nick wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 8:47 pmThe Porsche M+S tyres are ‘proper’ winter tyres. 2017 Macan S, Carrara White Metallic, Agate Grey Leather, 21” 911 Turbo Design wheels.
Then they must also have the 3PMSF symbol. Useful to know.

All the ones I have ever had were marked M&S (mud and stone) as well as the snowflake symbol, so that shouldn’t worry you. As to more grip etc. It depends how and when you drive. At normal speeds you may never know. However in an emergency your braking distance will be significantly shorter. In snow it will make a big difference. For all the bla bla that rwd cars (bmw, merc) are rubbish in winter it’s a lot to do with tyres. Winter tyres on a bmw will transform the levels of grip. And surprisingly most of my winter tyres have been quieter than the summer. IMHO you put winter tyres on because they will be there on the few occasions you need them. You stop before you hit the car in front rather than in it’s boot.
It’s Mud and Snow btw

I have set of Porsche wheels and winter tyres that are for sale at £800.00 the set. Bought from Porsche dealer (cost £2,134) and used for 2 or 3 months each winter last 3 years. Fronts are 235/60 R18 and rears 255/55 R18. Approx 5+ mm tread remaining. The wheels are absolutely unmarked and as new. Photos can be sent separately if you are interested. I sold my Macan S diesel in July 2021 but the dealer didn't want the additional set of wheels as their policy is NOT to take second hand wheels despite the fact they sold them to me!
I could be tempted, what style wheels?

The style is: 18” Macan S. I hope this helps. They have 5 “spokes” with each spoke being 2 parallel bars. I can send photos if you let me have an email address. I don’t know how to upload photos to the Macan forum site!

These are still available, they look top notch but I just can't justify seperate winter wheels, if its that bad I'll stay in bed!
