Hi All
Continuing from my other thread,
I may need replacement tyres and looking to refurb the wheels too.
New front tyres, circa £500 + refurb £700 (company i know and used before and know how good they are) = £1200+
If I fitted new rears too, that touching £1900 maybe...
I’ve located a set of freshly refurbed 20” RS wheels with Michelin Latitude Sport 3 tyres and TPMS fitted for just a touch more.
I like the look of the wheels too and i can just get my current wheels refurbed at my leisure then
Question
Will there be any discernible ride difference going from 21” to 20” wheels ?
My MacanDS has air suspension if that makes any difference
Cheers
Changing from 21” to 20” wheels

I have 21's for summer and 20's for winter. The 20' are noticeably better in every way, they really are the sweet spot for the Macan.
Interesting, may i ask why?jonnydrama wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 11:02 am I have 21's for summer and 20's for winter. The 20' are noticeably better in every way, they really are the sweet spot for the Macan.

Agree, had both on air and the 20” gives a far better overall ride. Currently a full set of 21” Michelin’s via Black circle is £910, the rears are actually cheaper than the front.

Comfier on the 20's, cheaper tyres and to be honest I think they look better. The RS Spyders for me is the best looking wheel I've seen in a long time.r1flyguy wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 2:52 pmInteresting, may i ask why?jonnydrama wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 11:02 am I have 21's for summer and 20's for winter. I have 20” spyders as winters and 21” for summers, I’m on air in my diesel and I don’t actually notice that much difference, but my winters are Dunlop and summers are Michelin, I think Michelin are the better tyres.
Also, I’ve said it before, Costco sell a full set of 21” Michelin Latitude for £770 fitted. I would use Lepsons for the refurb.

June 2017 Macan GTS in Carmine red with 21” gloss black sport classics, GTS leather package, Air, PASM, PDLS+, pano roof, Sports Chrono, 18 way seats, BOSE, surround view, heated seats front and rear, carbon side blades and carbon interior package.
The tread width is the same for both 20" and 21" wheels but the sidewall is taller on the 20" (21": F=265/40, R=295/35; 20": F=265/45, R=295/40). OK, the difference is only 13.25mm on the front and 14.75mm on the rears but it makes the sidewall more pliable which improves the ride. You can probably debate forever how noticeable it isr1flyguy wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 2:52 pmInteresting, may i ask why?jonnydrama wrote: ↑Tue May 18, 2021 11:02 am I have 21's for summer and 20's for winter. With 20” also considerably less road wheel noise transmitted, especially noticeable if on a concrete motorway surfaceOn-Track wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 5:43 pmThe tread width is the same for both 20" and 21" wheels but the sidewall is taller on the 20" (21": F=265/40, R=295/35; 20": F=265/45, R=295/40).
