New Brakes for Turbo

Eurocarparts often a good place to look. They don't seem to have any discs fro a turbo on there but do for a GTS. They do have brake pads for a turbo but not for a GTS. Weird!

For the turbo you need 360mm discs at the front and 356mm at the rear, they are different to the S and GTS

Thought the GTS had the Turbo brakes ?.

So I guess my Turbo is not going to be a long termer.

Will sell the thing before my mileage gets near 25k

you will find there are only 3 or 4 manufactures of disc in the world so shop online and take a gamble for a few hundred quid

Parts all round, genuine porsche have been between £1000, and £1200 on my 911's. Looking at the website I linked, it looks like around a grand for 4 discs, pads, and sensors.
Piss easy diy, 20 mins a corner.
The 17/18 inch wheels thing is a minimum wheel size,.
Looks like £168 x2 for front discs, and £116 x2 for rears
Pads 169 from, rears 199.
Sensors 27£ front £9 rear
Grease 23£

So £1033 ish plus vat. For parts.
But. There are sensors on the pads, and a light comes on.
Discs can be measured easily through the wheel with a micrometer. Front discs start at 36mm thick, rears 28mm. Porsche generally have 2mm wear allowance on discs.
Min thickness should be stamped on outside of disc
Just checked my discs, and rears read 26mm min thickness. Can't see the fronts, but looks like standard 2mm wear allowance

Most of my cars (and bike) have done at least 60k on same disks. Surely worth replacing just the pads and see how disks fare or replacing the pads at 20k and see if OPC still recommends new disks 5k later.

+1 , unless thediscs are scored or juddering (or, as wilko says worn below the min thickness which is unlikely) I'd do just the pads.
(Ask for the measurements of disc thickness and see how quickly they back down )

My favourite takeaway from this whole thread has been ..... when your discs and pads wear down, simply get a whole new car and preferably a GTS! I'd been looking for a good reason to change - now just need to go faster and brake harder! LOL
