Is 'rally driver' another of your very many talents then, Paul! ;)
Probably not quite quick enough for a trophy.....😳

I'll give serious thought to buying some winter tyres for my new Porsche later this year... :geek:
Need to save your pennies for that - I think a set of winter rims and tyres comes in at about £4.5k!

I haven't ventured out in the Turbo yet on its winters.....

Nick, will you be planning on getting winter tyres for your 911? :geek:
Have thought about it Simon, they're a bit steep though! Will need a decent chunk of discount!

Winter tyres are a no-brainer for me on every car. They are night and day better in adverse winter conditions, not just snow and ice. It amazes me how many people make do without them in the UK, especially when there are endless discussions about what are the best gripping summer tyres available. What about the best gripping winter tyres for the best all year round driving experience?

Today it is actually snowing and I've already passed 2 cars in the ditch along our local road to Silverstone. Winter tyres just make these light snow conditions effortless rather than a nerve racking experience.

A slight aside...

I was out walking bright and early for my paper last Sunday and a number cars drove past. One was a Macan. Now traffic noise, unless someone has their foot down hard, is predominantly generated by the tyres and it’s loud - particularly that from big 4x4s. Now we know Porsche publish the dB levels, which frankly I suspect mean little or nothing to most owners, but I’ve never previously been in position to make a comparison.

The Macan was very much quieter than the others - and seriously so!

Just thought I’d say. :D

Or... A set of Pirelli N-rated winter tyres for 20" wheels = £1,490.90. :geek:
