I don't consider that I drive the car hard, so I am amazed anyone getting 25 - 30K out of a set. That is some going.

I will be replacing the Michelins with.........Michelins :D
Would you go with Latitude Sport or Pilot sport ?

I will definitely go with the Latitudes as they are the "approved" type of tyres.

I haven't looked into this but I believe that the Pilots are not made for the Macan.

I too would go for Michelin Latitude Sport 3 for the Macan. You can check the correct pattern for your car at www.michelin.co.uk

i did check the approved tyres both on Michelin and Porsche Website. what i am interested i guess is why a similarly load and speed rated Pilot Sport 4S cannot be used.

Is there a specific reason why only Latitudes are approved and not the Pilot Sport 4S. i called Michelin and they did not have a technical response apart from the fact that only Latitudes are Porsche approved for which i need not have called them.

The Latitude is designed for SUV characteristics

The Sport is designed for UHP car characteristics

Here on the other side of the pond, the PS3s don't seem to be listed as 'approved' tires for the Macan. Latitudes
yes, PS3s no.

My Continentals seem to have been wearing pretty well - and will need replacing this summer. Haven't people
been satisfied with their COntis?

Haven't done many miles yet - just bedding them in but felt good on drive home...

That's my 2 year service complete, with new boots & wipers to keep me going hopefully for another 2 years!

Hi, a quick question. Did you eventually go for Latitude Sport or Pilot sports ?

Also, maybe I am thick but if the load rating and speed rating are the same then what's the difference between these 2 tyres. Anyone have any info on this?

Latitude Sport, Pilot sport not available - so far so good with them, can’t complain, possibly more grip than the Pirelli but too early to comment on wear...

I was at Porsche Silverstone on Friday. They have moved over to Michelin tyres and according to my instructor they are not as good as the Pirelli’s they used to use. Obviously they get extreme use there. But the treads on the car I used were feathering badly be the time I’d finished thrashing it round the track. Grip was OK but apparently the feathering turns into marbles and eventually reduces grip across the surface of the tyre.

So if you’re planning track days it might be better to stick with Pirelli’s.
