I haven't had it checked yet, but we couldn't see any visible damage to the outside, so unless it's something weird, it'll be a replacement.Nuclear Nick wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:23 pmBummer! Out of interest, what was the cause? Unrepairable or did you opt not to repair?
21" too big?

It was quite amazing. The AA fella didn't think it was working properly and I had my doubts, but seemed to be ok.Nosmo wrote: ↑Sun Dec 16, 2018 7:31 pm goron isn't it an amazing feat of engineering to see that tyre being inflated? It takes a while for the magic to happen but then....
On another note, it's not a tyre with which you would like to explore the grip limits . 50mph for a reason. They look like the 1998 - 2008 "grooved slicks" of an F1 car - without the grip, clearly.
Drove the 7 or 8 miles home at max 45mph - next journey will be to get it sorted.
I'm also glad I have an extra rubber boot liner so the normal wheel doesn't get the car dirty

[/quote] I'm planning to order a set of used wheels from ebay (buying new from Porsche is too expensive for me!) The photos I've seen looks good but I'm a little bit suspicious. Can you trust the dealers on the site? I see a lot of adds coming out from Germany and Poland. I don't want to end up with replicas or some cracked/bent rims.
If there is any other market place for used wheels or you know a good dealer please feel free to PM me the details.
I'm based in Sweden btw, thanks

I would expect 20" spyders are the preferred wheel on this forum, but no longer offered, now replaced with 21" spyders. I could not locate a private set for sale in the UK, I priced a new set of 20's from several OPCs, cost ranged from £3000 to £3800 if collected, plus tpms and tyres. Too steep for me, so anyone selling a set now can perhaps ask a significant price. The new 20" Turbos look good to me though.Ponbon wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:49 pm Doesn't seem to be a great demand for the 21" Sport Classics wheels. Had mine advertised a long time still no serious buyers.
Guess I'll be keeping mine since the sale was supposed to finance the replacement wheels(20" RS Spyders).
The tires on mine are the michelin latitude sport 3, good tyres I suppose.
However, I'm wondering if there are other better alternatives to perhaps improve comfort, as in more rubber/thicker rubber on the tyres? The tyres on mine looks almost like run-flat. Please excuse my ignorance.
Thanks..

Out of interest, would that be about 3,000 miles until the tread depth reaches 3mm, rather than 1.6mm?

Twas a guestimate of a bit below 2.5-3mm after 3000 based current usage.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:07 pmOut of interest, would that be about 3,000 miles until the tread depth reaches 3mm, rather than 1.6mm?
