Hi all.

Wife hit something last night on the motorway, Punctured rear ns tyre. The motorway is a smart one M1 near Wakefield. So all lanes are live. She slowed down due to the noise and drove to the next exit. Porsche assist brought her home. They have just been to collect it. Its now in Leeds Porsche. I have started an insurance claim, hopefully there will be no problem. At the end of the day its a collision.

I've had a quick look under the rear and can't see any damage, but you never know the flying rubber may have damaged something. Best let Porsche check it out. I've added a couple of pics. The wheel has taken a good battering.

Porsche assist / AA were great had her home in no time.

Your wife did right driving to a place of safety rather than stopping on a "Smart" motorway. Wheels are easily replaceable, people aren't.

As said, I wouldn't be keen on stopping on a "smart motorway"...

You are right guys.

Very dangerous place. She was even scared when she was driving slowly off

Don’t suppose it is of interest as you have instigated an insurance claim but there is one of those rear wheels complete with Pirelli tyre for sale on eBay for £350, the wheel needs a refurb.

Thanks toddle. Hopefully the insurance will cover it. Its good to know though.

TBH, i want the insurance to pay. They put my premium up by £150 because I told them someone had bumped into me in the Asda car park. I didn't pursue the claim as the other party sorted it out. But they still increased my premium , (because i'd had an accident) even though it wasn't my fault and i didn't claim. I complained to no avail.
