Power steering plus

Hoping that some of the guys with experience have some insight into power steering plus. I will apologise in advance as I am talking about my Cayenne and I'm already finding the steering odd. It jus feels so light and wishy washy, like something from a super mini and not a full sized SUV. So much at odds with my Macan which always felt meaty and purposeful. After a lot of searching I think I found out the reason. Power steering plus is part of the standard spec on a Cayenne Coupe, even though its not on the normal Cayenne which is odd. I know quite a lot of you Macan guys have it as an extra which is fine. My question is, can I turn it off or am I stuck with it?

You can’t switch it off.

You may be able to pay an OPC to disable it (a software change I believe).

Rab - perhaps get a drive in a standard Cayenne without PSP to see if it makes a real difference.

PAS plus (on the Macan) only operates at “manoeuvring” speeds (up to 25 mph ?)

After that there is no extra assistance.

It is a piece of software coding which should be easily removed (although not without a charge I imagine!)

As above, try to get a spin in one without PAS + to validate ......

On the Cayman I know it was an add on, which we selected. We were told you could not add after purchase, but if you didn’t like it, they could disable as its software controlled - not sure I see how it can only be disabled after the fact, dealer only disable. Anyway, my wife requested it and there seems to be no downside for us, so also added to the GTS and as has been said it has a low speed impact only, no negative impact for me when pushing on.

I didn't specify it on my Macan. Steering feels perfect. Most modern cars are far too light. Get it disabled.

I'm going up next week to get the air suspension checked out, a little bit of a list, so will have a word about switching it off when I'm there.
