I’m getting the wheels done too as they look lovely in the condition they are, so I want them to stay that way!
a) how do you protect the wheels?

b) where are the pics you promised?

Adam - I said I was taking it in on Monday. Reep are good, but not THAT good!

Wheels are protected with one of Gtechniq products. I’ll find out which one they are using on the wheels for you when I pick it up. It’s certainly not PPF so it will only be ceramic coating but that will still help against brake dust and general dilapidation I would hope.

Has anyone tried the new gtechniq Halo coating, apparently specifically designed to go on top of self-healing PPF?
I'm a big fan of gtechniq CS and EXO and thinking about getting PPF on my soon to arrive Macan S, then topping it off myself with Halo (I've applied Exo to a number of cars in the past)

Some photos as promised!

I used Reep over at the Dunsfold ‘Top Gear’ Track. Very knowledgeable guys and felt I was leaving the car in safe hands.

So all in, for the ceramic coating including wheels (C5 Armour if I remember right), PPF on most of the key parts - including front bumper, ‘bra section’, side sills, back bumper, wing mirrors and roof section...... was £2.2k

An awful lot for a ‘fancy carwash’ but I’m planning on keeping this for a while so I see it as great paint protection for the next 5 years at least.

What you will see with the ‘bra section’ is the line over the bonnet however it’s only at certain angles.

You can see it in these photos:

However comparing it with a similar shot, you can see it is virtually undetectable.

I’ve got PPF on my Lotus and the line doesn’t bother me on that. And it’s even less bothering on the Macan as I figured I’ve added it for protection first, aesthetics second - not that the looks are bad in the slightest. I’ve not noticed the line all day when I’ve been out and about in it.
