First time I've had a car with matte black alloys. I have been using a waterless cleaner spray. Seems better than car shampoo.

Just wondering what you use to clean and the stop water marks?

They are a swine to clean. I pressure rinse, then spray Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel and agitate with Wheel Woolies, pressure rinse then final rinse with filtered softened water, blow dry with warm air or leaf blower followed by quick spin round the block and final wipe round with damp micro fibre if necessary.

I had a very light kerb scrape on one rear on the 911 so took the opportunity to get all four wheels resprayed in satin matte black. Only a small visual difference from original but much easier to clean.

I bought Woolies on the recommendation of someone on here and find them invaluable on my spiders especially the inner rim which IMHO is at least as important as the outside face.

GTS Spyders are painted in Satin Black? Still though Satin finish can look like quite dull unless thoroughly cleaned and dried. Wheel cleaner, woolies and filtered water definitely. I also apply a sealant ( Chemical Guys JetSeal) once or twice a year, even use it on non lacquered polished alloys. Works a treat 😎

Thanks Mike for your treatment tips.

I just wanted to differentiate between gloss and matte finish in my question.

Autoglym reply in answer to this question:

Thank you for your enquiry, with satin/matte finishes you are limited as to which products can be used without affecting the finish of the paint.

To clean we would only recommend using Pure Shampoo
https://www.autoglym.com/products/bodyw ... re-shampoo
or the Wheel Cleaning Mousse
https://www.autoglym.com/products/wheel ... ing-mousse
as both of these items contain no glossing agents, wax or silicone.

We would be unable to make any product suggestions to provide protection as these will affect the finish.
