Points of interest (maybe)

SNO FOAM
Using a £99 Karcher and a snow foam lance is useless, they do not generate enough pressure.
Look at the sno foam manufacturers product application info to find the pressure required for adequate foam generation and ensure the pressure washer you use meets the spec.
Apply the sno foam as per manufacturers application method, do note the stand time.
Chances are if you do not get the foam thick and it sticking to the bodywork (1) your mix ratio sucks (2) pressure at the sno foam lance is far to low, buy a higher pressure piece of kit

WATER QUALITY
Generally UK wide it sucks and is only suitable for domestic consumption.
A water treatment system for car washing is highly recommended, minimum of a resin based water softener ( do also buy an insertion probe monitor to monitor when the resin needs changing ), ideally add a de-ionisation system as well.

DRYING
Blow dry or pat dry using top quality towels like Maguiers Water Magic.

See the Detailing and Washing Your Macan thread for more details.

In what way was it hopeless? Cause it didn't go like shaving foam?
I didn’t go like shaving foam but I’m sure you know the amount of suds isn’t really an issue to it’s cleaning effectiveness.

It didn’t glide over the surface like other shampoos I’ve tried which is my main concern.

That's ok, most folk who complain about it say its cause it doesn't go like shaving foam, this product wasn't designed to. I find it's the best snow foam I've ever used for cleaning ability, superb at removing traffic film, funny how some products work for some but not others.
Are you spraying the foam onto a dry car or do you give the vehicle a clean with just water first?

Have tried Meguirs, Autoglym, Autofinesse and GTechniq over the years (and P21S wax back in the day which was terrific).

I find Autofinesse is probably the best for regular washing but GTechniq do make very good products for more infrequent use. i just used their Triclean on carpets, trim and leather after my better half suffered an incident with a freshly served latte that fell out of her hand and went everywhere. Remarkable product and 2 hours later it looks immaculate and no longer smells of week old stale milk.

My i8 was treated to the full GTechnic CS Ultra Black 9 year ceramic coating (plus some PPF on sills as getting in and out was not easy) and it held up brilliantly but that says as much about the detailer (Nick White at SL Restoration) as about the product.

Dry of course. ;)

Try giving it a quick pre-rinse first and see if that helps 👍🏻

Er, er, OPC, they always seem to go in dry when giving you a big bill.

Ah yes, cleaning products. Just like Golf equipment, a new wonder product will be along soon. Before I had the Gtechniq ceramic coating, I used a variety of manufacturers stuff. I settled for Bilt Hamber in the end for snow foam, wax and decontaminant, panel wipe & clay. I also used a DA and Scholl compound but no longer able to do that. Now I use Gtechniq stuff. Any brand name will be ok I guess but people have their favourites and will recommend them.
Dolomite Silver 'S' with red leather 14 way seats, Pano roof, Bose, Air suspension with pasm, Chrono pack, PDLS, Surround view, 911 turbo wheels, heated screen, spare wheel, ioniser,75 lt tank, black tail pipes, black roof rails.
