I have been offered a set of unused shiny diamond cut 20" spyders (with summer tyres) at a significant discount from an OPC.
I would prefer a set in satin black on my VG Macan and am quite prepared to have them refurbished/powder coated etc but .......
Is the profile of the 'blades' the same?
Diamond cut looks to have sharp edge and Satin Black looks to have a softer rounded edge. I can't tell from photos.
Are they the same?

They don’t look the same in pics.

They look the same to me. I think it is the light playing tricks with your eyes combined with the silver face of the wheels making the spokes appear as though they have sharp edges

I agree. Plus, if you have to study them that hard to tell, once they’re powder coated, no one will tell the difference anyway.

Perhaps the paint coating rounds the edges?

The diamond cut ones have the blade edges machined off square. If you look carefully at the black ones ,the blades running through to the rim edges, where on the diamond ones the blades don't run through to the edge. i hope that makes some sense. So in short it seems they both have the same base rim, one gets painted mat black while the other gets a couple of mill machined off to give the diamond effect, so if repainted mat black they wont look exactly the seem, buti doubt anyone would notice.

If you look where the spokes join the very outer rim, you'll see they overlap the rim on the black photo, but don't on the silver photo. I'd say the wheels start off with a rounded spoke profile. After they're painted black, diamond cutting reveals the silver surface and causes sharper edges.

The “ standard” spyders on my GTS certainly don’t have the very sharp edges of the ones in your 1st photo - I suspect andreas may have the explanation (above) but to any non-enthusiast, and even from further away than a couple of yards, you’d be hard pushed to tell the difference.

Agreed, both would have the same base rim, the Silver ones are initially painted / powder coated black and then diamond cut as Rab J states and the
full black ones are left untouched after being painted / powder coated black.
