Thanks
WD40 and a non scratch scouring pad used lightly, worked a treat
They are a bit pitted, like many others have experienced - will ask for them to be replaced under warranty some day

Quick newbie question from a 2016 GTS owner, does the putting occur on all models?
Assuming all will suffer from it unless replaced?

I think itβs an issue with the black exhaust tips
Mine were replaced under warranty

Once clean, spray the tips with Silicone Spray (Halfords sell it) after every wash. This will stop the soot sticking and pitting the finish. Mine are 3 years old and 19k miles (diesel), with no pitting. The black subsequently just washes off, unless you leave them for prolonged periods during winter, when there is salt on the road etc.

Do very similar to above and all good after two years, not leaving it on for long I think is the key.

Hi everyone,
Just bought a beautiful black GTS from one careful owner and whilst the car is in great condition, the only area that obviously wasn't frequently cleaned is the exhaust tips
Love detailing cars and my bag is poised for a full clean this weekend but unsure what to do with the black exhaust. Always had Chrome before and worried about using too much on them to try and bring back, especially if it's something I can get sorted under warranty. I'm guessing these would still be covered under extended warranty (which came with the car)? How bad do they need to be?
Thanks

How old is your car ? Porsche probably won't replace the tips if its covered by an extended warranty
