As there are over 1/2 a million recent Tesla owners in the USA the uptake of EV’s there does not look to be an issue.

So what % of US cars does that represent?

Most EV chargers are in the open air and not under canopies like in fuel stations. OKish in summer, but no fun on a cold, wet winter's evening.

A lot of the newer "electric forecourts" have the chargers under cover. And, of course, simply plugging in or unplugging is a lot quicker than standing holding a fuel nozzle for several minutes.

One of the few I suspect. None in the South West yet.

Better than having to deal with a dirty wet home charging lead too.

I'm not sure that's the case. The Toyota Pious was certainly a fashionable car. But Tesla sales are well over half of all the EV sales in California, so probably not a fashion statement.

Perhaps more lack of individuality and following the crowd, but I still think a fashion statement. No other State is quite like California. Very odd place.

But that doesn't include standing in front of the charger for several (many?) minutes fighting with a range of apps on your soggy wet phone trying to persuade the charger to connect and charge your car.
