Macan 4?
That was the only connection I could think of, but we've never had Macan 1, 2, 3, so I thought there must be some other reason.
I'm probably over thinking it!

4-wheel-drive, as for 911s and Taycans. I guess there is room for a cheaper 2-wheel-drive model, but as for the Macan (non-S) diesel it may never materialize.

There have been three versions of the ICE Macan.
Macan 1 released 2014 and updated slightly 2016
Macan 2 updated with rear lightbar and minor cosmetic changes plus engine changes
Macan 3 again cosmetic, restricted variants available, rubbish touch screen switches
Macan 4 full EV
So the numbering does make as much sense as any Porsche numbering system makes sense.

I'm with BrianR on this. If the "4" is intended to mean Gen 4, then the Turbo would surely have been called the Macan 4 Turbo? There's obviously a future intention to launch other variants, and a less expensive 2-wheel drive version would make a lot of sense (probably more sense than the 2-litre ICE car!). But at launch it's important to maximise revenue by only offering more costly versions.
Macan S collected 4 Dec 2017 - Jet Black, 20" SportDesign, Agate/Pebble, 18-way, Pano roof, Bi-Xenons with PDLS, Surround View, PASM, PS+, spare wheel, towbar.

I suppose we will find out when the cheaper Macan 2 arrives

Probably room for a Macan 4S or even a 4GTS between the 4 and the Turbo, tooScotMac wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 2:24 pmThis would make sense.andreas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 2:15 pmI'm with BrianR on this.
