Well, I should have expected to be replacing my windscreen two weeks into ownership. (Did with my previous car)
Admiral insurance option 1 took me to the Autoglass queue. They had the screen in stock and could recalibrate the lane assist... but that requires a controlled environment and their nearest centres were Romford or Bedford. So I contacted Admiral again and they were happy that Autoglass would do the screen (£75 excess) and then the OPC do the calibration and I forward the invoice for reimbursement (in full).

Autoglass "engineer" managed to completely damage two fixings of the Overhead Console. Rather than coming clean he reattached it with screen sealant/glue.
It looked OK yesterday. But came to use the Macan this morning and after 100yds the Console dropped quarter of an inch. When I stopped to investigate I found the backseat lights no longer worked and after trying the drivers map light this button was now jammed with the light on. Popped into the Cambridge Porsche centre who expressed little surprise and managed to scrounge up a couple of replacement clips... but will have to leave it to Thursday to investigate the rear lighting issue, when they'll recalibrate the lane assist... fixed the front light switch...Auto-ass had trapped one of the plastic tangs on the transparent horseshoe behind the switch.
Still should be an interesting discussion with Auto-ass senior engineer Monday... now worried that we've managed to repair too much too soon.

These things are so interactive in a modern car. I would fight very hard to prevent a non authorised fitter near my vehicle. On my X5 the auto wipe never worked worked correctly again after a National Windscreen job. BMW didn’t want to know.
Macan SD Vocano Grey. LEDs, Pano Roof, PSE, Sports Chrono, PASM, Sports Design Mirrors, 21" Sports Classics in Black, lots of other extras.

Well the auto wipers worked fine but the Porsche mechanic said "I bet they haven't reseated the mirror back properly" and sure enough he pushed it towards the screen and there was a positive click. Once this situation is put to bed I shall enjoy filling in the Auto-ass feedback survey they've just emailed. Also think I should report back to Admiral.

Definitely keep Admiral in the loop; if Autoglass don’t stump up for the potentially new overhead console / switchgear etc etc.......Admiral will have to pay - it was their recommended repairer that cocked it up!

Crack appeared on windscreen on our Macan, phone NFU, "can I have Porsche fit and calibrate". No problem sir just get the OPC to e-mail quote.
Book car in with OPC for 8th as need a loan car. 2 days later phone call from NFU saying they will send cheque for cost less my £70 excess. (Total Cost £1104) Further 2 days and cheque arrives yesterday 6 days before the job is being carried out. I call that good service.

It's not alway non-Porsche personnel that make mistakes. This I discovered during washing this afternoon - presumably following last months repair. Popped into Tewkesbury last week to have the rear wiper widget fitted. They did their usual inspection - I still have the video they kindly sent me - and missed it! Or maybe it worked its way down to be visible in the few days since.
I haven't a clue what it's part of. Parking sensor?

The inside bit of a parking sensor would be my first guess Mike - was that the side you had repainted recently? Possibly when the rear bumper was removed (if) to paint the wing / arch the clips got broken and not noticed.....?

Yep! My guess too, Paul. 6/10 for Spraymasters as they also forgot the clear stone guard just behind the passenger door. I wonder what else? Just hoping Tewkesbury will be kind enough to fix it otherwise it's a trip down to luverly Swindon.

Gob smacking development... from senior Autoglass rep. Because the metal clips are frequently damaged on the overhead console and clips are not part of the screen replacement package... using the black screen glue is their APPROVED process!
