Grey coloured DPF service light came on again this afternoon. At least it’s been 2 months since last time it came on and thankfully being a weekend was able to immediately give the car a good run along M62. Although light went off as usual after a couple of minutes I ran it at over 2000 rpm for a good 20 miles.

👍
(Still a pain ‘though - no chance of an “un- update” for the software?)

Think I might contact Porsche customer services and ask when a new update is going to be available .

So after only 10 days since last grey coloured DPF service light was cleared it came on again late last night which necessitated a midnight run for 10 miles on M62. Getting pretty fed up now with this wasted time and fuel. Will now compose a complaint to Porsche as never had any issues before the DME software “upgrade” . It’s fortunate that I live close to a motorway junction as I do not see how the filter could be cleared on normal roads where it would be impossible to hold sufficient continuous revs for the time required to clear the warning light.

Oh dear feel for you, glad we got rid of our new SD when we did (after 2 months!). So mrs JR picks up kids from school, baby crying for bottle in back, regen light comes on and Porsche say you have to do a 20 minute detour at high revs etc etc......this don't work in the real world.

At a recent visit to OPC they have had numerous complaints on this issue, seems a deeper and growing problem here.

I really wish I had refused the software upgrade as my Macan was perfect for the first 2 years.

My SD is 2 yrs old and 21k. Regen light came on once 9 months ago and cleared after getting oil temp past 93 degrees. Is that temp level significant? At service the filter was pretty full but I've had no warning light since that one time. Since the service in October the engine seems to be reaching temperature quicker so even in this colder weather I get to 93 degrees (which has become my target) within a 5 mile drive almost every time - urban and country roads, using Sport for any corners and roundabouts, or just for fun. I don't take it on really short journeys (wife has a 135i which is not a hardship to take instead). Anyone else experienced anything like this?

It took me about 8.5 miles today at an ambient of 6 degrees.
